The city offers a competitive medical and dental package to full time employees. Employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of hire.

Medicare / Social Security
Employee participates at 7.65% contribution with matching city funds.

Life Insurance
Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS):
  • Employees have life insurance equal to their annual salary
  • Retirees have $5,000
City Provided Group Term Life Insurance
  • Regular full-time employees have life insurance in the amount of $50,000
  • Accidental death doubles this amount
Voluntary Supplemental Life and Accidental Death
  • Low cost supplemental life plan available on a voluntary basis for employees and dependents
Long Term Disability
The city provides a plan that replaces 60% of the employee’s income with a maximum benefit of $5,000 per month. This benefit starts after an employee is unable to work for 90 days or more due to a sickness or injury.
