Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Events

Cedar Hill residents have the option of bringing household hazardous wastes to a local HHW collection event here in Cedar Hill or taking household hazardous wastes to the Environmental Collection Center (ECC) in Fort Worth, 6400 Bridge St., Fort Worth, TX 76112 near I-30 and Loop 820. The ECC is open on Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proof of Cedar Hill residency is required such as a current water bill or a driver's license. HHW Registration

Old Medicines NOT ACCEPTED at HHW

In accordance to DEA regulations, old medicines are not accepted at HHW collection events. Please bring your old medicines to the Police Department drop box at the Government Center at 285 Uptown Blvd.

Commercial waste will be refused, no exceptions.

E-Waste Collection Events - Computer and Electronic Recycling

Twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, the City of Cedar Hill holds E-Waste Recycling events at the High School parking lot. Accepted items include TVs, Computers, CD / DVD players, cell phones, copiers, fax machines, printers and VCRs.

There is no charge for this event and volunteers will help unload your vehicle. Dates and details will be posted to the city website calendar as soon as they are confirmed (usually March and November).

Local E-Waste Recyclers

  • Best Buy stores (call to confirm) - All TVs 32" and smaller. $10 charge with $10 gift card. No charge to recycle computers.
  • Goodwill Industries Collection - 440 E. FM 1382 (accessible from E Belt Line Rd., behind the shopping center that faces FM 1382)
