Fun and excitement abound each year on the second Saturday of October when Cedar Hill celebrates Country Day on the Hill. 2013 marked the 76th annual event that featured a parade, the FUMC 5K Mission 5K Fun Run, over 100 craft vendors, food, activities, contests and live entertainment on three stages through the entire day. The fun began at 9 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. with the naming of the main stage at Houston and Texas streets in honor of 'Miss Jimmie' Ruth White who passed in 2012.  Featured performers Will-O-Creek Band from Burleson, Texas played in Miss Jimmie's honor.

And don't forget the Old Settlers' Reunion each year on Friday before Country Day. The beans and cornbread dinner is $7 for adults and $4 for children with proceeds benefitting local charities. BINGO is also included with prizes galore.

Vendor application deadline for early bird discount next year is September 1, 2014. After that date full rates apply.  An additional fee is required for electrical service.  For more information contact the Friends of Country Day at 214.789.8165 or visit their website at
