Cedar Hill residents Maranda Auzenne and Bill Pierce were recognized by the Cedar Hill City Council in September for their leadership and service to the community. 

Bill Pierce, nominated by his neighbors, received the Good Samaritan Award. Bill and his wife Carol have lived in Cedar Hill for over 20 years in the Lake Ridge neighborhood. Bill is a founding member of the Lake Ridge Charities Foundation and a passionate Citizens on Patrol volunteer. He has been involved with the Citizens Emergency Response Team for over 45 years and has been a field training officer for Citizens on Patrol for 10 years. Bill is a recent graduate of the Citizens Fire Academy Class of 2018. He has a passion for making a difference in the community enhancing communication and being prepared for emergencies.

Maranda Auzenne received the Great Impact Servant Leader Award. Maranda is an intricate part of the Cedar Hill business community. She and her husband Jay have called Cedar Hill for over 20 years. Maranda is known as a strategic organizational leader who is resourceful in getting things done through creative partnerships.  She is the previous General Manager at Hillside Village where she was responsible for all areas of the 75-acre upscale shopping center including finance, marketing, guest services, leasing and operations. Maranda is committed to creating environments where people and families are given the opportunity to flourish. She is also on the Board of Directors for Transformation Vision, which oversees the activities of Hope Mansion, Bridges Safe House, and other non-profits. 

Maranda as been named the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year and has received the Debra Award from Concord Church for church and community partnerships,  the Dallas Business Journal’s Minority Business Leader Award, and the Leadership Southwest Distinguished Leadership Award.  She has served on the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce Board, Cedar Valley College Management and Marketing Advisory Committee, Cedar Hill Tourism Advisory Board, Transit Oriented Development Advisory Committee, and the Best Southwest Partnership Executive Board.
