[ARCHIVED] West Nile Virus - Spraying completed

Cedar Hill City administration joins other Dallas County communities in following standard procedures set up by the Center for Disease Control for dealing with the West Nile Virus epidemic.
City of Cedar Hill Code Enforcement officials are identifying pools and other areas of stagnant water and treating them with a larvacide containing non-toxic bacteria that kill the mosquito larva as they hatch. If you see a stagnant pool that may need to be treated, please call Code Enforcement at 972.291.5100 ext. 1094. Or report it using the "Access Cedar Hill" button on the homepage of the City website.
Residents are encouraged to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
When outside, wear long, loose-fitting light-colored clothing,
Use insect repellent products containing DEET or other EPA-approved repellant compounds and follow directions.
Keep doors and window screens in good condition and check weather stripping for mosquito entry points.
Avoid being outside at dusk. The majority of attacks occur at this time.
Remove any standing water outside.
