Lights Out Texas is a campaign that focuses on turning out lights at night during spring and fall migrations to help protect the billions of migratory birds that fly over Texas annually.

When do the lights go out?

 Full spring migration period: March 1-June 15                        Peak Migration: April 19-May 1                                                                                              

Full fall migration period: August 15-November 30         Peak Migration: September 5-October 29

Everyone is encouraged to turn off non-essential lights at night from 11 pm - 6 am during spring and fall migration periods.
