Community Science

Do you enjoy taking photos, observing nature, and staying curious about the world around you? Community science is the collaboration between community members and scientists to collect data on a variety of projects.

Community science projects can range in topic from ecology, astronomy, medicine, engineering, psychology and more. Often times, collecting data is as simple as snapping a picture on your phone.

Want to try dipping your toe into community science programs? The Traphene Hickman Library has science kits that you can sign-out with your library card with topics that include: measuring the night sky, observing pollinators and exploring biodiversity.
